FAQs

FAQs

Is there a shorter route to the winery?

There is only one way to reach the winery and that is Hwy 37 – we know there are numerous maps showing “shortcuts,” but they no longer exist.

Coming from Hana side of the island, we are located on the “back road” from Hana town which takes approximately two hours and parts of this road (coming from Hana) are unpaved and narrow.

Can we ship wine ourselves?

Federal laws prohibit mailing of wine by individuals.

Only licensed whoelsale/distributors or manufacturers can ship alcohol.

Please check Find Our Wines for a list of states where we are licensed to ship wine to consumers.

You can also safely transport your wines home with you as checked luggage; the Tasting Room offers airline approved insulated packaging available in three, six and twelve bottle boxes.

Are children allowed? Can they accompany us on the tour?

Absolutely! Anyone under 21 must be accompanied by an adult. Children are welcome to join the tour – please take into consideration that our tours run about 30 minutes long, it’s a walking tour and the guides have no amplification. Consideration for the comfort of other guests and their ability to enjoy the tour without distraction is greatly appreciated.

Are pets allowed on the grounds?

We allow certified service animals only.

Do we need reservations for a tour or wine tasting?

Reservations are not required for less than 10 people. Tours will be announced in the Tasting Room and begin on the front porch…if you arrive a little late and see the tour in progress, feel free to join right on in.

Wine tasting is complimentary – we offer wine tasting all day long between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily. Don’t forget your ID – we are required by law to verify that you are at least 21 years of age.

For groups of 10 or more, reservations are required. Please contact us to make arrangements: toll-free (877) 878-6058 or info@mauiwine.com or check out our Private Offerings

Do we have to take the tour?

Absolutely not; but we encourage you to try it! There is no charge, and the tour is fun and informative. You’ll learn all about our colorful history and the flora, fauna, buildings and grounds, as well as a brief overview of modern winemaking practices. You’ll also have plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

Is there a restaurant?

The Ulupalakua Ranch Store (right across the street from us) has a wonderful Deli and Grill. The grill is open daily from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and they’ll be happy to cook up your selection of fresh Maui-raised beef, or you can grab one of their takeout deli delights, made fresh daily.

Does Maui's Winery host wedding ceremonies, receptions or allow wedding photos?

Currently we do not have the infrastructure or staffing to offer you what you would deserve to have on your special day. If you are looking for an Upcountry wedding, you can contact Alii Kula Lavender Farm (www.aklmaui.com) – they offer wedding services.

Does Maui's Winery offer private tours and tasting?

Yes, we do offer private tours and tasting for small private events. Please check out our Private Offerings and contact us to make arrangements: toll-free (877) 878-6058 or info@mauiwine.com

What is the elevation of the winery?

We sit at approximately 2,000-feet elevation; however, during your journey to Ulupalakua, the elevation climbs to 3,000 feet in some places.

Please contact us at info@mauiwine.com if we can answer any other questions for you!
